How to select a Semperit hose

When choosing a hose, pay attention to the type of medium (hydraulic oil, water, air), the working temperature, the working pressure with a margin for pressure peaks, the nominal diameter (DN) matched to the flow rate and the minimum bending radius at the installation point. EN 853 and EN 857 hydraulic hoses differ in braid construction and working pressures, and the compact types (2SC, SEMPERPAC 2SNK) are a good choice where a smaller bending radius and smaller outer diameter matter. Markings and documentation

Semperit hoses carry a legible marking on the cover with the manufacturer, hose type, standard and working pressure, which makes identification and in-service inspection easier. For industrial products we give Semperit article numbers as the SKU. You can also find the variants in the search by alternative designations.

History of the Semperit brand

The history of Semperit goes back to 1824, when the tailor Johann Nepomuk Reithoffer patented waterproof fabrics, laying the foundation for today's company. By the early 1850s a plant employing about 800 people was already operating in Wimpassing, producing footwear and many other rubber products.

In 1872 the merger of several rubber companies made Semperit the largest producer of rubber products in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. In 1890 the company made its debut on the Vienna stock exchange. In 1926 it was the second largest industrial group in Austria, with nine factories and about 9,000 employees.

A breakthrough for the hose segment was the addition in 1998 of the plant in Odry in the Czech Republic, today the largest hose factory in Europe, where hydraulic and industrial hoses are made. In 2023 the group acquired RICO Group, strengthening its business in liquid silicones and mould making. Today the group, associated for more than two centuries with the processing of rubber and plastics, supplies hoses for construction machinery, industry, transport and the automotive sector.
